Start! 2003
Royal Academy The Hague at GEM
11/10/2003 t/m 11/01/2004
This new exhibition featuring work by a hand-picked bunch of recent graduates
from The Hague’s own art school, the Royal Academy of Art, represents the
revival of an old tradition in a new location. During the 1990s, the
Gemeentemuseum held annual exhibitions featuring a small, personal selection of
new graduates from the Academy’s Visual Art course. This tradition was
abandoned when the museum found itself temporarily without a city curator. To
celebrate the resumption of the refreshingly different series, the GEM is this year
presenting a show double the usual size and spotlighting no fewer than 12
artists who graduated in 2002 or 2003. Every conceivable discipline is
represented.
The artists taking part are:
Nickel van Duijvenboden
Corinne Egas
Gamal Ez
Stefanie Grätz
Daan den Houter
